Highway 13 plays all your favorite tunes from the 1960s to now
Based in Oakland, CA, Highway 13 is a cover band featuring strong lead vocals, gorgeous backup harmonies, and skillful musicianship. Our eclectic mix of rock-and-roll, pop, and acoustic favorites includes material from Fleetwood Mac, Ed Sheeran, Adele, Jefferson Airplane, Pink, The Go-Go’s, Aretha Franklin, The Eagles, Brandi Carlile, and plenty more.
We’re just as happy playing rock and soul as disco (yes, disco) and acoustic fare in three-part harmony. We’re always adding new tunes, and the result is a varied repertoire that can be tailored to any event.
You may have guessed that we got our start in and around Highway 13, a short loop in Oakland that’s pretty beautiful as far as highways go. It all started in 2009, when a group of us started jamming together at various folks’ houses in the vicinity. Before long, we were playing our first gigs at Monaghan’s on the Hill (right off of 13), the beautiful Claremont Hotel (where the highway ends), and a number of local schools, restaurants, and pubs.
We continue to be proud of our Oaktown roots, but we don’t discriminate against gigs outside the area!

Song List
Song List
Highway 13 covers a huge range of music from the 1960s through the present. We are fortunate to have female and male lead singers, with angelic back-up vocalists who bring the harmonies to life. This lets us jump in with both feet on almost any type of tune and tailor sets to each event.
Our collection comprises rock, pop, soul, funk, disco, and acoustic ballads by singer-songwriters. Don’t be surprised to hear Taylor Swift, A Taste of Honey, and Dusty Springfield in the same evening—somehow it all works! We’re always adding new material to keep things fresh.
